SHOW'S OVER

Twas late in the evening a storm settled in
Still the show was about to begin
The band started playing and the people did dance
The air was electric and so was the fence
The singer said something about being lost and in love
A helicopter decended down from above
Swooped down and took the bands away
Left a drum-box, boy-band and a concession stand in their stay

Sorry folks the show is over- a new one’s begun
Forget about the songs that were being sung
You’ll learn to like it over and over again
See you next time something good is about to begin

Wipe that smile off your face
Get on your feet and give chase
Hand-cuffed to a briefcase

Twas early one morning when up pulled a van
Stepping out slowly was ‘the man’
The man of the hour the jack-of-all-trades
A finger in every pie-- his eyes were glazed
Said something about being lost and in love
Then unexpectedly gave me a shove
He swooped down and took my plants away
Left a bottle of booze and a case of the blues in its stay

Sorry folks the show is over- a new one’s begun
Forget about the songs that were being sung
You’ll learn to like it over and over again
See you next time something good is about to begin

Wipe that smile off your face
Get on your feet and give chase
Hand-cuffed to a briefcase
